We, the members of Trinity Baptist Church, children of the Holy God, saved by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ, being led by the Holy Spirit, join ourselves together for the common purpose of:
...proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to
individually and collectively encourage people to make Jesus Christ Savior and
Lord; baptizing, teaching and making disciples as the Lord Jesus Christ
commanded;
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
...equipping the saints for the work of service in the
building up of the body of Christ; promoting a strong Biblical foundation for
both family and single living;
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be
prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to
prepare God's people for works of service so that the body of Christ may
be built up.
Ephesians 4:11-12 (NIV)
...earnestly praying for one another, ministering to the sick,
caring for the dying;
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the
church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord
will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore,
confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be
healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 5:14-16 (NIV)
...assembling for worship and continually encouraging one
another through fellowship.
They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to
the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Acts 2:42 (NIV)
How to become a Christian:
Appreciate the fact that God loves you.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 (NIV)
Agree with God that you are a sinner and that you are separated from Him.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23 (NIV)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 (NIV)
Acknowledge that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for your sin.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While
we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 (NIV)
Accept Jesus personally into your heart as Lord and Savior. Receiving
Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to
come into your life to forgive your sin and to make you the kind of person He
wants you to be.
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to become children of God--
John 1:12 (NIV)
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears
my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with
me.
Rev 3:20 (NIV)
How to be sure of your relationship with Jesus Christ:
Be assured that, having received Christ into your life, you are sealed and stamped with God's name on you. Ask yourself, "Has he come in? Do I have eternal life? Is Christ here in my life?" The answer to these questions is "YES" if you sincerely meant your invitation to Him. You may or may not feel different, but you don't need to. Your salvation is not based on your feelings, but on the authority of the Word of God and His promises.
