About Trinity

Trinity   Baptist Church was established February, 1961, with 81 members. The first Sanctuary was dedicated in 1962 under the leadership of Trinity's first full-time pastor, Rev. Harold Dann. In 1966 Rev. Kenneth Sanders became the congregation's second pastor and under his leadership the first and second educational buildings were erected.

Dr. Virgil Lovett became pastor in 1969 when the membership was 335. A Youth-Fellowship building (now known as daycare) was constructed in 1971. The original sanctuary was nearly doubled in size in 1974, and the Youth-fellowship Building was likewise expanded. In 1976 the first two-story Educational Building was erected, followed by the purchase of five additional acres of land in 1977.

In 1980 the new Sanctuary was built and dedicated. Since then additional property has been purchased; a large Christian Life Center has been constructed; another two-story Education Building  has been added replacing the Maguire wing; and the Sanctuary has been remodeled and expanded to seat approximately 1,600. Our total membership is currently 2,800 people; the church staff numbers 14, and there are approximately 100 staff and teachers for Trinity Christian School .

After 37˝ years of dedicated service and loyalty to the Church, Dr. Lovett retired on October l, 2006.  In honor of  Pastor Lovett and his family’s devotion to Trinity Baptist Church and Trinity Christian School, the Christian Life Center has been renamed “Lovett Christian Life Center.”  

Dr. Allen Higginbotham served as our interim pastor for a little over thirteen months at which time Rev. Kevin Goza became our new pastor on November 11, 2007.  We are looking forward for this new era in the life of Trinity Baptist Church as Pastor Kevin is directed by our amazing God.
